Introduction

Blueink offers a variety of fields and formatting settings that you can use to customize your documents and streamline the signing process. In this article, we'll provide an overview of the different types of fields available, validation patterns, and read-only fields.

Fields Available in Blueink

  1. Signature Field: Defines where a signer should provide their signature.

  2. Initials Field: Defines where a signer should provide their initials.

  3. Signing Dates Field: Defines when the signer entered their signature.

  4. Text Field: Defines where the signer should enter text into the document.

  5. Multiline Text Field: Defines an area for the signer to enter text spanning multiple lines.

  6. Date Field: Defines where the signer should enter a specific date.

  7. Checkbox Field: Defines an area for the signer to check a box, indicating agreement or approval.

  8. Dropdown Field: Defines a customizable dropdown menu for the signer to select from a list of options.

  9. Attachments Field: Defines an area for additional files or documents to be attached (one attachment per field).

  10. Read-only fields: Allows the document creator to enter information before sending, which the signer cannot manipulate.

Assigning Fields to Signers

Each field should be assigned to a designated signer or "signer role." For multiple signers to fill out a single field (except signature and initial fields), assign those signers to the field. Select the option "require at least 1 signer to input information" if only one signer needs to input information.

Validation Patterns

Choose your field and click on it to open the configuration box on the left of the screen.

Select the validation pattern to match the field type (e.g., phone numbers).

Customize the validation pattern to match your specific needs (e.g., accept only certain area codes or formats).

Read-only Fields

Place the Read-Only Field where you want the information to be on the document.

Use your keyboard to type information into the field.
