How to Create Signer Groups

Written by Trisha Capusi

This feature is currently available for Business Pro plans and higher.

What are Signer Groups?

Signer Groups allow teams to create reusable signer groups that can be assigned to signing roles instead of individual signers.

When a Signer Group is assigned to a signer slot, the first eligible member of the group can complete the signing role.

This helps:

  • Reduce delays caused by unavailable signers

  • Simplify team-based signing workflows

  • Reuse signer configurations across documents

  • Improve flexibility for shared responsibilities

  • Speed up document completion

How to Access Signer Groups

  1. Go to the Signers section from the left sidebar.

  2. Click the Signer Groups tab.

  3. Click Add Signer Group.

How to Create a Signer Group

1. Create a Group Name

Inside the New Signer Group page:

  • Enter the Group Name

  • Click Save

Example:

  • HR

  • Finance Team

  • Operations Approvers

2. Add Members to the Signer Group

After saving the group:

  • Search and add members to the Signer Group

  • Add existing signers or contacts as group members

These members will become eligible signers for workflows that use this Signer Group.

What Happens During Signing

When the Signer Group is assigned to a signing role:

  • Eligible group members can access the signing request

  • The first eligible member to complete the signing role finalizes that signer step

  • Signing activity is recorded in the audit trail and Certificate of Evidence

This helps teams manage approvals and shared responsibilities more efficiently.

Conclusion

Signer Groups make it easier to manage reusable team-based signing workflows in Blueink. By assigning signer roles to groups instead of individual users, teams can reduce delays and improve workflow flexibility across departments.
